"are wondering how "Dirichlet" is different than "Bayesian","
That is the error; I am not discussing Bayesian Inference - rather, "A community who uses Bayes' Theorem by *itself*, *without* using modern statistical techniques". As an example of their hubris - when I posted this on their LessWrong forum, they questioned whether SAS's methods were superior to "just Bayes' Theorem by itself" because "FDA might have other incentives besides optimal results"! Their justifications for sticking to Bayes'-Theorem-by-itself are bizarre. The rationalist should rightly be skewered; I was NOT saying that Bayesian Inference is wrong - rather, "the Rationalists are doing it wrong, by using ONLY Bayes' Theorem." Do you see that?
