I was inspired by your verve - my holiday project is to make a prototype, of whatever scale I can muster in my cat-litter-box of an apartment. :)

I should mention: keep the capacitor pinstripes electrically disconnected during spin-time, or else those tiny electrons will all just flow backwards through whatever short circuit of a circle you give them.

Also, flipping coat-hanger triangles on an axle in front of the torus' magnetic beam would drive AC voltage, which is handy, and an easy way to check system efficiencies, if you have a voltmeter.
